6 classic pilates moves (un)explained

People often ask me what I do at pilates. One thing’s for sure, I can guarantee you that an hour of an intensive pilates workout can easily turn your arms and legs to jelly and have you tripping down the stairs from the studio (to the nearest shop with a cold drink). A bonus is that pilates has strengthened my bad knees and improved my posture from a slight hunch to standing tall and upright. (In other words, in just 2 years, it did what 7 years of ballet couldn’t! Ha!)

So, as a tribute to hedonistic Saturday mornings, this is an illustrated non-guide to 6 pilates moves, otherwise known as the Plank, Rolling like a Ball, the Teaser, Hundreds, the Swan Dive, and the Bridge.

I hope my trainer will have mercy on me tomorrow after she sees this.

Pilates is not for the faint-hearted.
