The Runner’s Alphabet – ‘B’

I started ‘The Running Alphabet’ series of drawings with the letter ‘A’ (for ‘Anaerobic Threshold’) some weeks back, inspired by children’s flashcards after my 2-year-old’s birthday.

(I have also been a longtime fan of Edward Gorey’s ‘The Gashleycrumb Tinies‘, i.e. the Gorey Alphabet Book – “A is for Amy who fell down the stairs, B is for Basil assaulted by bears..”)

Having dabbled in barefoot running (as far as being completely barefoot, all of 3km of it ;-D) and having spent 99% of my runs on minimalist shoes, the first thing that came to mind for ‘B’ was, well, no surprises – Barefoot. On a more serious note, whether you like Christopher MacDougall’s ‘Born To Run’ or not, one cannot ignore the barefoot running boom that has taken the sport by storm.

‘Hobbit feet’ for the win! Here’s ‘B for Barefoot’. Enjoy! 🙂

B is for Barefoot!

Bring on those Battlescars!
